Mrs. Hillman: There's no bed in your guest bedroom! No space in your spare closet! No food in your refrigerator! No room for a car in your garage! I will now take a nice, hot bath and try to understand how you can be so overindulgent and underprepared all at once! There's no bath in your bathroom! Irving: We took the tub out when we put in the spa shower.

Go to Motel 6, they’ve left the light on for you.

People who stay at your House and complain about what you have or don’t have, should not be invited to stay.
My own mother did that. She complained bitterly that she “could not believe” that I didn’t have a tv for her in my guest room.
She NEVER had a tv in her guest rooms ( house cottage, house in Florida – no tv in the guest rooms – ever) but complained because I didn’t have something that she never had either!
And people wonder why I drink.

Those who overindulge themselves are only prepared to help others through accidental excess. In other words ‘Plenty to spare.’

Do people still take baths? We’ve been a shower-only family since the kids were old enough to start cleaning themselves, and that was a lot of years ago now.

C & I really DO live just for themselves. Perfectly matched, self loving people.

I’m guessing this is the point of today’s strip, but “overindulgent and underprepared” is right! Oh wait, are we talking about the in-laws or Cathy and Irving? ;-) Sometimes the truth is in the mirror.
That aside, I have been debating whether to get rid of the bathtub in the master bath. While I don’t take baths at all and it would enable us to have a bigger shower, we will be moving in under 5 years and I know others like baths, so I’m reluctant to get rid of something that someone may want.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Thursday! Have a great and healthy day, all!

It occurs to me that the people who have what Irving’s parents are demanding are Cathy’s parents. There’s always food in the fridge, an empty bedroom. That would be fun.

“Overindulgent and underprepared”, huh, Mom in the comic? For the surprise visit you sprang on C/I and expected them to suddenly be ready for? I have the sudden urge to … Nah—don’t wanna get banned from GoComics. [smile]
HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.

Those 2 wouldn’t be staying 5 minutes in my house….I was lucky that I had wonderful in-laws and when my mil stayed she was always appreciative of whatever was done for her. I just wished that they had lived closer…they were in England.
