Cathy: I love you, but I have a busy job and I cannot keep running home to coordinate "mother-in-law activities"! Just help yourself to anything and I'll see you tonight! Mrs. Hillman (from phone): I decided to organize some drawers. Do you really want your nice underwear mixed in with your sweat socks like...

That is a line so major you can’t see over it!!! Chuck ‘em out! What is she doing in YOUR bedroom to begin with??? I doubt it’s to vacuum, or clean the bathroom—two things which necessitate going into the master bedroom. Arranging the panties and socks (or bvds and socks) drawer is not to happen without first asking…even then you must respect the very loud, panicked “NO!!!!!”

I wonder what will happen when the in-laws start inviting over their friends for poker night or bridge or whatever.

Tell her if she wants to arrange things neatly, she can come to Cathy’s office and do the filing.

First rule for my sister and myself: do not leave Mom alone in our houses. She could be so helpful with suggestions on decorating but there was literally no drawer in the entire house which was off limits, including her sons in law’s.

Ack, I’m getting PTSD! One time that my in-laws visited, my MIL somehow got my laundry (I don’t remember if it was in the dryer or if she actually washed it on her own or what happened), and I came home to my underwear neatly folded in the drawer. First of all, I don’t fold my own underwear – it just goes into a pile in the drawer. And she ironed my husband’s underwear (typical in Spain), so I really really hope she didn’t iron mine. And the fact that she did all that, should have been nice, but don’t handle my underwear! Too personal!
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Friday! We had a sad day yesterday, saying goodbye to one of our cats, Cleo (Cleopatra). She was 18 1/2 years old, older than Jr, and part of our family. She was so sweet and easygoing, moving with us to Madrid and back, and always purring and happy to see us. It’s hard to not see her in her favorite bed, but she is hopefully happy to be out of pain now. Have a great day and hug your furry ones extra!

Oh, HELL no! If I were Cathy, this would be the last straw for me. Just what is wrong with this woman, anyhow?!? She strikes me as the kind of person that would ream someone up one side and down the other if they DARED to #1.) invade her home unannounced and uninvited, expecting to live there for the rest of their lives because of poor financial planning on their part and #2.) come into her house and start rearranging her sock and underwear drawer(s) without asking her permission first. And yet she has absolutely no qualms whatsoever about going into Cathy’s house and doing that to her just because she’s Irving’s mother which, apparently, “entitles” her to do whatever she wants, whenever she wants to do it. Parents or not, they’ve invaded C&I’s home and lives long enough. It’s time for Irving to grow a back-bone, stand up to them and tell them, gently but firmly, that it’s time for them to GO HOME!

Hi, rgcviper! :-)
lightenup: I’m so sorry to hear about your beautiful Cleo, Sis. I know how devastated you’re feeling right now as the first anniversary of our sweet little pupper’s passing on to the Rainbow Bridge is only 23 days away and I still miss her every bit as much today as the day we lost her. Our pets are just like babies to us — especially when they’ve been with us for as many wonderful years as that — and it’s one of the absolute worst, most soul-crushing, feelings in the world to let them go ….. even though we know in our hearts that by doing so, we’re setting them free from the pain they’re in. Hugs to you and your family! ♥

Hello and Happy Friday, fellow Cathy fans. Have a great day and stay well everyone! :-)
