Mrs. Hillman: This junk should all go in our yard sale! Out! Out! Out! Cathy: That's all Irving's stuff. Mrs. Hillman: Irving's?? It's my baby's stuff?? KEEP! KEEP! KEEP! KEEP! KEEP! Mr. Hillman: Every ray of common sense is blocked when mother looks through her "son" glasses.

This woman should not be touching stuff that does not belong to her.

Yet it was fine when the MIL wanted to give his treasured teddy bear away? She must be off her meds again, or off her rocker, or both. Personally, I think only Irving and Cathy need to be part of these decisions, and of course any profit should go 100% to them, if any. Other than that, the “son” glasses pun is cute. Although, I’m a bit jaded because my MIL not only has “son” glasses, but also blinders. She is a good person at heart though, unlike Irving’s MIL, so I try to ignore some of it.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Monday! Have a great day, all!

Funny (and by funny I mean NOT funny) how she considered all that stuff to be “junk” when she thought it was Cathy’s ….. but now that she knows it’s Irving’s instead, every single thing she gathered for the yard sale (which she had absolutely NO business doing in the first place!) has suddenly gone from trash to be gotten rid of to something needing to be saved and treasured because it belongs to her “baby.” What a piece of work that old woman is! I wonder what it’ll take before Irving finally grows a spine and tells his parents that he’s had enough and it’s time for them to GO HOME now?!? After all: they’re HIS parents so it’s HIS responsibility to show them the door. Shirking his duty and forcing Cathy to (eventually) have a talk with her overbearing M-I-L will only cause problems between the two of them from here on out so it’s best that HE be the one to handle this situation instead of her.

Irving’s father is correct- but she never had a ray of common sense to start with.
Looks like we are in for a cool, wet, few days – and I cannot even blame Lindz.coop for it. Ah well, I need to rest after all the shoveling and raking I did for the past few days. All done the drainage trench now, except for the seed. My wonderful neighbour is leaving his tractor here so I can start grooming the area behind the rebuilt retaining wall. That will keep me busy on the nice days (when I can get away from this computer of course).
Have a sunny day!

Common sense? From this family?? Best laugh I’ve had in a week-plus!
Regarding the change to black and white here, I recently got the following response from GoComics:
With the recent launch of new content from Cathy Guisewite, she requested that all of her classic work be returned to the format in which she intended for it to be run which was black and white.
So, there you have it.
HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.

Nope..hendelca…we’re in for a blazing Tuesday, then maybe some more comfortable temps, but it’s not raining much around here…not nearly enough for tender young plants we’ve just put in. Wow, rgcviper, that’s kind of disappointing. I do like Cathy better in color…hope CG changes her mind. As for the MIL…she belongs in a box in the yard sale and just skip everything else she wants to put in it.
