So she bought a very expensive dress too sizes too small thinking that would motivate her to lose weight. Typical Cathy thinking. It never works.

From the looks of it, the lady who bought the dress did the same thing but only spent 6 dollars. Gotta love yard sales.

Can’t believe she got $6! Back when I had yard sales, I would be offered $.50 for brand new unworn baby clothes that my MIL bought for a lot of $$$. My husband called them prom dresses. Now I give everything to charity.

Guys do stuff like that too. I know a guy who bought a couple pairs of very expensive designer jeans at size 32 at a high end store. He was currently 34" waist and was sure he’d hit the gym regularly again that spring and go back to 32" that he had been his whole life before that. About a year later, he was 36" and hasn’t gotten smaller in the following decade. Last year he gave them to charity.

Whoops! I know it’s hard for Cathy to keep her mouth shut, but sometimes it’s better to just not tell everything. Not that I would ever buy something that didn’t fit, but I’d just get rid of it without saying how much my stupidity cost. Out of sight, out of mind.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Monday! Have a great day, all!

I wonder how many expensive electronic toys Irving has that he paid high prices for and never used – or at least used only a couple of times until a new version was released.
Sunshine and mid 70’s today. Time to find some excuse to leave the computer and go outside for a bit.
I hope your day is sunny too.

I can’t get over how positively thrilled Cathy looks at getting $6.00 for a dress that she paid $300.00 for, then never it wore a single time. If I were her, I wouldn’t be feeling happy right now; I’d be feeling positively SICK at the waste of all that money that could have been better spent on something else a lot more worthy (not to mention sensible) instead! :-P
As for Irving, I can understand the shock he seems to be experiencing right now. Buying such an expensive dress two sizes too small in the hopes of losing weight and being able to fit into it someday? Extremely foolish and unrealistic on Cathy’s part if you ask me! But this unfortunate purchase happened 10 years ago — long before they were married. At that par-ticular moment in time, the money was hers and hers alone to do with as she pleased and that’s what she chose to spend it on. It’s not like this happened after they got married where she dipped into their joint bank account to make such a completely idiotic purchase behind his back and the truth is only now just coming out because if she had, THEN he’d have the right to be upset about it. But since that’s not the case in this situation, he might as well drop the subject and move on to something else ….. like how to get his parents the hell out of his and Cathy’s house and back into their own, for instance! ;-)
P.S.: Not to defend Cathy because there really is no defense for her extremely wasteful behavior but let’s face it: she’s a shopaholic and always has been so this little revelation of hers really shouldn’t come as any big surprise to him. But given the fact that it appears as though it has, then it just goes to show how little he’s been paying attention to her and her spending habits during all the on-again / off-again years they’ve been together! :-/

Hey—she only took a 98% hit, for something that didn’t fit in the first place. OY—pain from colossal [eye-roll].
HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.

The dress doesn’t look like it would fit anybody over the age of 10..and the woman who bought it won’t wear it either.
