Irving: You worked so hard to get rid of excess stuff at out yard sale, mom...then gained it all right back at someone else's yard sale! Mrs. Hillman: This is NEW excess stuff! Completely different thing! OLD excess stuff is impossible to lose because it's attached to memories and guilt. NEW excess isn't. I can lose a ton of new excess any time I want!! Irving: Are we discussing closets or pounds? Mrs. Hillman: There's a difference?

MIL seems the same as Cathy. Buys clothes, that we never see them wear. They wear the same things, almost everyday!

I don’t see the little lamp she bought for 50 cents. Maybe she sold both as a matching pair.

My weight isn’t associated with any memories, and I can’t imagine even thinking “this belly roll is from that bad breakup 6 years ago when I stocked my freezer with Ben & Jerry’s.” [eye roll] But my things… that’s another story. I’m getting better, but I do have trouble getting rid of things, mostly because they bring back good memories.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Thursday! Have a great day, all!

Send MIL packing with ALL her stuff…and throw in some of your own junk too.
