Irving: Getting digital photo files under control is NOT more complicated than film! I've only been at it for a day and I'm almost done with 2009! Cathy: You're almost done editing every picture we took through the end of last year?! Irving: I'm almost done editing the 2009th shot of our dogs in their 1996 Halloween costumes!

Frankly, if I can’t remember whatever the photo was there to remind me of, I chuck it. My photo album gets thinner every year. …sigh

All of my pre-digital pictures have the dates, people and occasions written on the backs of them because I knew I’d most likely never remember all that information someday if I didn’t. What they aren’t, however, is put into neatly organized photo albums like I had always wanted to do. But things aren’t completely hopeless, though: I put them in large business-sized envelopes with the year written on the outside of them and have them chronologically stored inside boxes so if I ever need to find a specific picture, it would be fairly easy to locate as long as I know about when it was taken.
As for my post-digital pictures, they’re pretty much like everyone else’s: stored in “folders” on my computer. I’d love to have every single one of them printed so that I can organize them along with all the others but quite frankly, I don’t have the time, money or energy to do that so that’s where they are until I physically need one or two of them (usually for framing purposes), then I’ll email them to Walgreens and have them printed for me there.

The only editing I do on digital pictures is to rotate them so they are all right side up. Well, maybe red-eye removal if I am going to share them. Anything beyond that is takes too much time. Hmm, maybe removing my ex brother-in-law from all pictures would be good but then, he was part of the family for those years. Just glad I will probably never see him again in the real world.
It is Saturday so enjoy it.
