Cathy: TO DAD, fixer of the squeaky doors, clogged drains, drippy faucets, sticky windows, wobbly drawers, wiggly handles, bent hinges, worn hoses, blown fuses and bad plugs!! Dad sees something that needs attention... Moves in with all his tools... and doesn't stop attacking until the problem's fixed! Irving: Why? HA, HA! I just text the repair guy! Dad: Come with me, son. You seem to have a few loose screws there. Irving: HELP ME!! Cathy: No need, honey. You're with the best!

I’m with Irving. Why waste my time doing something that a professional will do far better?

Only a few “loose screws”? Sorry, Irving, but I couldn’t resist.
Nice that Dad is taking an interest, though.

In my younger days I would call for repair only as a last resort – or if it was the gas furnace (they scare me). Now, if it is easy, I fix it otherwise I call for repair. Still do most of my own wiring and plumbing fixes and most of the other little things that go wrong. I can tear down a brick wall (did that a couple of months ago) but definitely will hire a mason to build a new one. There are some things that do require more than amateur skills.
Happy Fathers’ Day to all the fathers here today.
