Irving (out of frame): ...See? They'll be fine with grandma and grandpa as soon as we leave.
Vivian and Electra: Curses on our animal instincts.
My cats usually get more food whenever we go out of town and someone else takes care of them. The vet says they need to lose weight so I watch what they eat when I’m home. One of my cats will stop eating when she’s full, but the other will keep eating and meow like she hasn’t eaten in months. I have to tell my family not to believe her.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Monday! Have a great day, all!
Our dog loved going over to her “Grandma’s” house for a visit, but due to separation anxiety she didn’t like being left behind on the rare occasions when we had to go somewhere with-out her and needed my mother to “baby-sit” because we’d be gone too long to leave her home alone. When that happened, she’d stand there at the storm door, scratching at it and crying her little heart out, as we drove away. It was so gut-wrenching to watch that it simply broke my heart every time we had to do it! :’-(
Then later, as we drove up and pulled into the driveway, we could see her sitting there at the door, waiting for our return. When we came around the corner of the garage and she saw us coming up the front walkway, she’d begin crying and scratching at the door again because she was just so happy and excited (not to mention relieved, I’m sure) to see us. I swear: you would have thought we had been gone for a few months rather than just a few hours! ;-)
The routine was always the same. We’d ask my mother how things went while we were gone and she would say that after we left and everything calmed down, she’d only leave that spot long enough to eat her dinner and go outside to potty, but once she was done she’d be right back to the door again in order to continue keeping vigil. She wouldn’t nap, play with her toys, or anything. She just sat (or sometimes laid) there the entire time — anxiously waiting and watching for our return.

Hi, rgcviper! :-)
.
Hello and Happy Monday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope you all had a really great weekend and a very nice day today too! :-)
Our quite elderly (19 years) male “kitten” really only wants “people food” anymore. He does stoop to cat food when pressed, but he makes it clear that it is not what he wants.

I have noticed my dogs use the “please give me some of your food” for pretty much everything except throw the ball. Maybe I need to feed them more.
