I buy my candy well before Halloween and give myself permission to eat as much as I want just so long as I have enough to hand out. So far I haven’t eaten any in years. I double cross my reverse psychology.
I had to stop buying ice cream. I couldn’t keep it in the freezer. There wasn’t anything wrong with the freezer. It was the ice cream, calling, calling, calling …
Here’s an idea for you, Cathy: either leave the house and go somewhere for the evening, or turn off all the lights by the front door (especially the porch lights), and ignore the doorbell if someone rings it. If you don’t have trick-or-treaters, then there’s no reason to buy candy for them. People like you with absolutely no willpower whatsoever need to keep tempting foods like this out of your house. If it’s not there, then it can’t possibly “call out” its name (or yours) over and over again until you give in and eat every single piece of it until it’s ALL gone! :-P

Hi, rgcviper! :-)

Hello and Happy Saturday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope you’re all having a really great weekend so far! Did you see? Cathy Guisewite is finally back to drawing her Cathy Commiserations comic again! ♥
Yup. Chocolate calls to me too. Fortunately I have built up a little bit of a resistance to that call over the decades – enough so I can limit myself to one or two per day. My wife still thinks I will eat a whole bag/box of chocolate all at once – but I don’t.
Happy Hallowe’en Eve. I hope everyone is having a great day today and looking forward to the rest of the weekend.
Sad day here—-second kitty this month crossed the rainbow bridge. Both were old…today was Mama Hissabelle (20) and 4 weeks ago was one of her kittens Panda (19). Not a happy Halloween for us.
As for the Halloween candy, I guess I’m lucky I really don’t like any of it except candy corn and I’m not going to buy a whole bag of that.

Maybe next time she should wait until Halloween to buy the candy. Less temptation if it’s in the house for a shorter period of time.

Yup—that temptation for chocolate will get ya if you’re not careful. (Guilty as charged, myself … )
