I look in some of these supermarket aisles and see them crammed with items the world got by without for centuries. 90 kinds of shampoo! When I was a kid, there were only two kinds of shampoo: the kind that made your hair smell like coconut and the kind that didn’t. :)
I don’t know about anyone else, but in my current experience, this doesn’t seem nearly as true today as it did when this comic was originally published 22 years ago. Our grocery store’s cereal aisle is a lot smaller these days, and when I was in Walmart recently, they no longer had my usual brand of body lotion and shaving cream (among other things) that they’ve always carried. And those weren’t the only things I noticed that were scarce either. Most of their personal care shelves seemed to have a lot fewer item choices on them than there used to be. Not sure if they’re having delivery issues because of this never-ending Covid problem, or if this is just something that they were going to do anyhow — pandemic or not. But it’s a bummer either way because it now forces me to go to more than one place to find everything I need, as opposed to them being the “one-stop shopping” store they’ve always been for me.

Sadly, if there is only one left, there is usually a reason why he, or she, hasn’t been taken yet.

I have bought the Sam’s Club Members Mark shampoo, conditioner and body wash for YEARS. They work just fine!

Thanks for the link to Stone Soup Classics Mom. It sums up Cathy’s main issues quite neatly.
Happy Saturday!

Supply vs. demand … right, Cathy? Or something like that, I suppose.
HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.
