That’s ridiculous, Cathy. “Paper gain” is NOT worse than weight gain! It’s a whole lot easier to divest yourself of paper, either by filing it away in properly organized folders and cabinets or throwing it in the recycle bin, than it is to shed unwanted pounds — especially once you hit mid-life and beyond when your metabolism slows down to what seems like a crawl (at best!).
B/t/w: my old home office used to look pretty similar to this, but I tackled it, piece by piece, until I finally got it whipped. My current diet and exercise regimen, which I’ve been on for the last four months and includes a daily two-and-a-half mile walk around our subdivision? Not going anywhere NEAR as well as I wish it was, I’m afraid. But discouraging as it is, I’m not giving up. I’m going to keep at it and hopefully one of these days, I’ll be able to lose enough weight so that I can get back into my old size 8 jeans comfortably again. I’m thinking maybe another 10-15 lbs. should do it, but at this rate it’s going to take me FOREVER to get there! :-/

Hi, rgcviper! :-)
.
Hello and Happy Saturday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope you’re all having a really great weekend so far! ♥
I agree with Gretchen’s Mom – paper gain is much easier to lose than body weight gain but only if you make you mind up that all of the stuff you have been letting pile up is not worth keeping. The paper piles in my home office are not quite as high as Cathy’s but I have more of them. Again it is a matter of priorities as well – sort through that pile of paper and eliminate what is no longer needed and file the rest OR read the comments on Cathy. Guess which one wins.
It was take down the tree day today. Spent more time vacuuming up the needles than putting away the decorations. Still worth the trouble to have a real tree. I hope you are having fun this weekend.
I can relate. I have a habit of putting paper aside to deal with later, though going through it all is always a nice feeling. I recycle as much as I can, too. Small steps …

We don’t really do paper much any more. I wonder if that helped stop deforestation much?
