This is a good start. I’m going through my bathroom items too so I can pare them down. I’m using them though, so I can recycle the container because I hate waste and adding things to the landfills. It’s saving me money because I don’t have to buy new things. While I’m sure it’s easier, I don’t like it when people just throw a bunch of things away that could have been used. I’ve even given hair product and lotion away on freecycle, and people happily take it.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Tuesday! Have a great day, all!
Good grief! Cathy can’t bring herself to even toss the extra’s when she is thinking about it. I need to go over there and intervene to teach her a few things.
The big problem is when the stuff starts to fall out whenever you open the door. Of course, there’s always the one wonky shelf that you bump when putting the things back in, so everything of the shelf tips over and falls out again.
I finally took a serious inventory. Anything I had not used in ten years had to go! :)
Things like that corn and callous treatment bottle that could not be opened, mustache wax for when my mustache turned gray at the age of 30 (only wore it “professionally”), anti-nausea medication from the Twentieth Century, tiny band-aids (just in case?), and that weird bottle of Dramamine (I never have gotten motion-sick, not even upside down in the back seat of a jet fighter).
Now if I get really ambitious, I’ll clear out all the “emergency” items in my fanny pack. :)
Sorting things and deciding what to keep and what to discard would be a whole lot easier if I had space to put thing while sorting. Maybe I need a clear space with the rule that anytime I have nowhere else to put the item but in that space I must discard some items.Hmmmm. Somehow I don’t think that will work.
I go through times where I just choose one thing from each room in the house and throw it or give it away. It does help to keep junk from accumulating. Unfortunately my office is a disaster area because it needs a lot more attention than that.
Yup—stuff that builds up around the home can be a challenge. Guilty as charged. However, I try to keep things orderly and lower the stacks as much as I can. My success rate varies, but the thought’s there, right?

I find that a good thing about bringing home worthless knickknacks is remembering where I got them when I throw them away.

My 18 year old offered to clean my bathroom counter, medicine cabinets and area under the sink for $25. I enthusiastically agreed.
