I wouldn’t have a problem getting rid of uncomfortable shoes that I’ll never wear again. I usually have problems getting rid of shoes that I may wear again. I have large feet so it’s difficult for me to find shoes. I have the ones that I wear a lot, but I keep others that I don’t wear a lot because it’s such a pain to find more later. Ah well, I’ve given away several pairs that I know I won’t wear again, knowing that another “big foot” out there will appreciate them.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Thursday! Have a great day, all!
“Single” shoe storage? Ridiculous! However, I do have half a drawer of “single” socks because you never know when you will buy another identical pair and wear out only one of those … or unexpectedly need to throw a hand pupper party … or wear mismatched socks with sandals to a “last date”. :)
I wear my shoes until they fall apart – which, for some pairs, does not take very long. I wear a non-specialized running shoes (at least that is what I call them) for just about anything. When a new pair gets two scuffed they get moved to either the door to the garage or the basement door to be used as work around the yard shoes. The pair in the worst condition gets tossed in the garbage. I do have a pair of black running shoes to wear in the theatre and one pair of dress shoes. The dress shoes last 15 to 20 years as I seldom wear them. Essentially I purchase a new pair of shoes about once every 2 to 3 years.
I’ve always liked the strappy ankle look of that kind of open-toed shoe on a woman. Can’t speak as to the comfort, but I think they look sexy. I realize high heels are not good for the feet, but they do very nice things for the shape of a woman’s legs. And no, I don’t have a foot fetish either, so don’t ask.
It’s not often that I so closely identify with our favorite little whack-a-doodle, but this one really speaks to me today. I donated a lot of clothes and shoes (among other things) to Goodwill before we moved 500 miles away to our current house five years ago, but I still kept a few too many pairs of shoes and sandals that I didn’t wear very often (because of their discomfort) “just in case” I might want or need to for some reason. To this day, I still haven’t worn any of them and it’s doubtful I ever will ….. and yet, there they are, still taking up valuable real estate in my closet. I know that I need to go ahead and get rid of them now so that they can find a new home in someone else’s closet that they’ll be more comfortable on, but let’s face it: I probably won’t. At least not yet, anyhow. But I know for certain that when we’re ready to move again someday, they will NOT follow me to the next new house because if I still haven’t worn them the entire time I lived here, then under no circumstances that I can think of will I wear them there either.

Hello and Happy Thursday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope you all had a really nice day! ♥
Indeed … getting rid of old stuff can be an emotional journey. However, given how our heroine mentioned that the shoes never fit her in the first place, and were ugly, I’m giving this one (yup) another trusty [eye-roll].
I’m slowly testing what shoes I can wear with my new foot. It’s frustrating because it keeps changing. The good news is that more of my old shoes are starting to be wearable again and seem like new because I haven’t been able to wear them for so long.

If no one wants it, it really needs to be wanted by someone.

Oh, Cathy, you’re speaking for me, too. I have a terrible time getting rid of shoes and clothes.
