That is a promise I kept: when I became an adult, I was never going to use that sort of talk with my girlfriend/wife. It is painful to hear adults talk like that!

Don’t worry, kids. You’ll be like that in your future.

The little girl’s a blonde. She won’t need any Brain Bleach.

I had a coffee mug that has a chalkboard coating and a piece of chalk. Everyone knew my current mood by the smiley, neutral, or frowny face depicted. Only once did I have a post-nuclear face, and that was when someone in the office introduced a virus through an infected e-mail he was specifically warned not to open until we got the anti-virus updated. Irretrievably lost several hours worth of work that day. Twitbrain is no longer with that company.

This is far better example and memory for the children than the parents being at each other’s thoat. The children may openly consider their parent’s actions as overly sentimental and “gross” but will be reassured by the fact that mom and dad still love each other.

Just for fun i am going to call my wife Smoochie-Woochie when she gets home from work. Can’t wait to see the reaction. Sentimental crap like that usually makes her suspicious, but with Valentine’s around the corner I may be able to get away with it.
