I’m absolutely positive that the hunters had to pay a fee. I live in Sarasota, Florida and there was quite extensive coverage in our Sarasota Herald-Tribune. I didn’t bookmark any of the reports on the hunt, but I remember the fact that they DID have to pay a fee was definitely reported. More on the subject:
