Woman: Alex, do the variances affect security? Alex: Dr. Davos has found very little impact... in fact, what we're seeing in our simulations is... Woman: Wow... sounds like a game changer. Alex: Yeah, unless... Man: Ha! At DARPA.
So, now that she’s about to get an adult job and have a baby can Alex comb her hair and stop wearing it in a style that hasn’t been fashionable since early 1993?
Alex’s abilities have been on display for a long time. She launched a successful online company, MyVulture.com, after the dot com bubble burst. She was an organizer for the Dean campaign in 2004.She got into MIT.She may have to take some time off when she has the pair of dudes, but she’ll be back on her game soon enough.
Also for SkepticCal, both platinum members of the broken record club. Maybe you’d like to add some new verses to your repetitive, empty, Windbag-dictated lame refrain on Benghazi – reasons for which are never supplied, but nevertheless it is repeated endlessly. Safe to assume it’s just a way to try to smear “that man” who clearly doesn’t represent the majority of Americans who (re-)elected him. Here’s some new verses to consider:.Remember Karachi (2002, Pakistan, 10 killed in attack on US embassy)..Remember Uzbekistan ( 2004 US embassy attacked, two were killed and nine injured)..Remember Saudi Arabia (2004, US consulate was stormed and 8 lost their lives).Remember Syria ( 2006, US Embassy attacked, one dead)..Remember Athens (2007, grenade thrown at the US Embassy, no deaths)
Remember Serbia (2008 the US Embassy in Serbia was set on fire).
Remember Yemen ( US Embassy in Yemen bombed, 10 dead).
Look at all that stuff that we should be remembering, extending your Benghazi “logic.” ..Of course, all of that occurred under Bush, and mostly under a GOP controlled Congress, so I guess it all just gets an automatic pass….And there’s more worth remembering:.Remember 9/11 – 2993 killed in one day on American soil in the largest terrorist attack ever. This occurred despite nine separate warnings to the Bush administration that an Al-Qaeda attack was imminent..Remember Iraq: 4400+ American deaths, 32,000 American wounded, 110,000 to over 1 million Iraqi civilians dead. Unauthorized appropriations of $3.2 to $4 trillion to fund 10 years of pointless war (Congress never budgeted funding for the war). But we showed those Iraqi f*&#ers not to f*&# with the US. Oh, wait – they weren’t the f*&#ers behind 9/11, and didn’t have any weapons of mass destruction, other than some old, rusty chemical weapons the US supplied them under Reagan in the early ‘80s. But we showed them. We showed them we could cut off our nose to spite our face, and punish civilian populations relentlessly for having had an A-hole leader, and beggar our own treasury to satisfy the whims of a petty President..Remember the GOP House cut US embassy security spending by $400 million over two years (2011-2012), despite recommendations to the contrary from the Obama administration, and warnings that doing so would endanger Americans. Look! We’re back at Benghazi, your favourite place. I know these verses aren’t quite as a easy to remember as your lame two-word refrain. But that’s the price of actually thinking, and understanding complex issues. Not that I expect you care You simply hope to apply the lesson of another infamous right winger, that you should repeat a big lie often, and eventually many will believe.
I don’t begrudge the president (current or any former) his vacation time. It’s a high-pressure, nonstop job, with every single word and gesture monitored by those ready to pounce on a real or imagined error or weakness. I’d rather have a president take a little time off (golf, cutting brush like GWB, trout fishing in SD like Eisenhower, sailing like JFK), than have one who gets too burned out to give the job his full attention. Even when they go on vacation, they aren’t really on vacation.
