That’s how “positive affirmations” work: 1) you miss the target, 2) you tell yourself “I have good aim” and give yourself a virtual hug, 3) your brain, feeling rewarded by the affirmation, concludes that “good aim” means missing the target, and proceeds to improve its skill in this area.
