Frazz by Jef Mallett for March 12, 2013
Transcript:
Frazz: Of course everybody laughed. These incidents are classic comedy. The key is: was it a mean laugh? A "that could have been me" laugh? Or a "whoa, that was epic!" Laugh? Girl: Epic! Miss Plainwell: Do a little mending today? Frazz: One pair of pants and one ego.

A male seamstress is a tailor.

Is the difference generational? Is it that people old enough to remember a different era, and/or have children tend to notice the niceness and caring and mentoring, while younger people grown up with predator panic see the same scenes as creepy and suspicious?

Gawd yes, I love Frazz! And Caufield. And dear old Mrs Olsen.

Yes, a male seamstress is a tailor, however, many women in the profession go by tailor, as well. I was corrected on this, for some reason. Even though Tailor has a long history of being male, women feel that seamstress is a lesser title and have taken it up themselves. I’ve been really conflicted by this, though. I’ve always been of the thought that a woman can’t be a tailor any more than she can be a man. But times are changing for reasons I really don’t care about, actually.

I could use a voice of “Frazz” in my life.

Tailor involves making to fit a specific person, not just stitching a seam.

:-) A sewing needle is a sharp piece of steel with a hole at one end for thread and my blood smeared on the other. :-)

So people are coming on here and saying that they hate Frazz because they feel inferior to a cartoon character? o.O
Wow………..

Glorify ignorance, punish intelligence, and blame it all on public schools which have been diverted from educating the public into cheering a bunch of boys in underwear agitating a bag of air and calling it “school spirit”. It goes back aways. Back in the conformist ‘40s, we practically revolted when our high school debate team went of state finals and got only a second class pep rally to send them off. The band didn’t get to play, but they did every week for the football team.

Seamster is an actual word. So is sistren. Many brethren can be employed as seamsters. Most sistren in the profession are known as seamstresses.
