So Dogsniff has hand-cranked internet.Alexikakos, except those kids weren’t around in 1992 when 57 Channels came out.Where I live (born and raised here), 4 channels is exactly right and it took an antenna rotor to get them all. One from each network and one independent station.
There was a good “Thatababy” recently where the evil TV was trying to force him to watch it, and bragging about all the channels, but he turned it off to do something creative instead. Ah, the wisdom of little babies……..
My grandfather told me that when he got up in the morning, he would watch the test pattern until the Today Show came on, and then watched silent cartoons. It would be nice if they still had some of those.

Now we have thousands of stations to bore into our self-esteem, income and peace-of-mind.

I’m lucky…. ever since we went digital, I only get one channel.
So now I can get bored with it a lot more quickly…. and with less effort.

When I was very poor, going to a cheap taco place on Friday night was a big deal. Pong was amazing at first.

We had just the 2, except during a storm, when we would have a different 2.

I don’t remember being bored with the 4 or 5 we had growing up. Of course, we didn’t sit in front of the thing all day, either!

We might have gotten PBS if it had existed at that time.

What we had back then was referred to as the “Farmer Five”.
