I think Arthur’s “Table Round” had one slight flaw. The king was still naturally the most important person there, and I would think the ones sitting to either side of him would feel honored.A round table works best if everyone is the same rank.
Not all that surprisingly, LBJ had a hydraulic chair lift installed on Airforce I at the conference table…for himself, of course. After his Presidency he had it removed and moved to his private residence.
