Mr. Burke: I lost all that weight and I've kept it off. And I still can't play basketball for doodly. But boy, I feel good when I fail. Girl: I like your approach, Mr. Burke! Mr. Burke: Not that it's not my approach to homework. Girl: It sure felt good watching cartoons instead of studying.

“The Bellboy”. If I remember correctly Lewis spoke no dialogue until the very end of the film. Also, I don’t remember which movie it was but there was one in which he was arguing with his conscience in a mirror about saving his buddy (Dean Martin) from gangsters. Conscience: (something on the order of) “How can you abandon him after all you’ve been through together?” Lewis: “Those guys are tough!” C:“You can be tough.” L: “Those guys got guns!” C: “You can get a gun.” L: “Those guys are smart!” C: (pause) “You can get a gun.” It’s been decades since I saw that, and I still love it.
