It is interesting to notice that ‘the Reeve’ is carrying an unusual bag. Maybe an exchange? (heavy dog burden for bag?

Seriously, is this our future, one or two or a few strips on Moon Maid every few months and then we go on to something else until next time?

Wonder what Crypto’s carrying? The bulges in the bag the other day looked like little balls or something. If they’re heavy, maybe ball bearings?

Yep, I knew someone would call out Jumbler’s costume as being out of period.

Those bulges in the dog’s zipper pouch looked like they could be heavy coins of some sort. Now he tells the dog it won’t be heavy for much longer. Some sort of exchange may be in the offing (as David53 suggested)

is this story going somewhere or not?

That bag’s not heavy for Cyrpto…he’s a “super” dog.

Is the shire Reeve a shady character? He appears to be drawn that way and to be in league with the Jumbler, though they may not have known each other personally beforehand. That would imply some third party behind both of them and organizing this caper. Whatever Crypto has smuggled in, I think he is not a suicide bomber-dog…. I think, broadly speaking, the plan is to create chaos at the fair and somehow benefit from it.
