It’s in his posture and the slightly upturned gaze. The mask give his eyes focus and his lips are pressed together in grim determination..In a stroppy mood today, aren’t you?
Up on the rooftops, surveying the city for Crime and Evil-doers, PJ Boy stands his lonely vigil. Only Grandma knows his secret identity….I can hardly wait for further adventures!
Grandmas seem to have a really good read on their grandsons, even when they don’t see them much. My son only gets to actually see my mom once a year or so, but he still thinks she hung the moon, especially at birthday time and Christmas.
I wish they’d show his Grandma. Is she his father’s mother or his mother’s mother? She always sends him such cool gifts. Also, is it Lio’s birthday? There’s no other holiday at this time of the year to warrant a gift. Maybe it’s a “just because” one.
Thanks pcolli……that’s exactly what I was basing my comment on. As you figured out, I was not being sarcastic…just observant. Of course, ivor1 has noticed that my eyes saw a mouth when none was there…lolololol…however, even though a mouth was not drawn into this picture, the brain tends to see one because everyone has a mouth and it expects to see one, right? I guess my brain functioned on auto-pilot and saw Lio’s mouth even when Mark didn’t draw one.
I still think this was an expressive drawing of Lio. In spite of all his zany escapades, he still feels in control of his world and is on the side of helping mankind. He’ll do great things when he grows up.

And you still use the same one? Reminds me of how a friends late mother used to talk of reusing them during the war.
