Dirk’s not bad, he’s just drawn badly….

Why do I get the impression that Dirk is more of a threat now that he is a nice guy than he ever was as the bad guy?

If I may answer my own question, the whole Brad/Toni saga was never about Dirk. It is about the fact that Toni wants to have her cake and eat it too. Dirk’s persona turned ugly when he felt threatened by Brad. He wanted to hold onto Toni and he felt her slipping away. Now, Brad wants to marry Toni, and she gets upset at him for even bringing up the subject. Meanwhile, now we see Dirk at his best. Let’s see how long it takes for Brad to look like the bad guy.

MJ; And then in the middle of something akin to a punch-out or potential punch-out where you can’t tell what is going on- the big scene for an arc we will be switch to Summer Song&Dance camp and a trip to Hawaii!!!^^That won’t be for a few more months

Brad IS meant to be maturing. Ignoring him is exactly what he should be doing. Indeed, he should be relieved to hear Dirk’s got a wife and baby.

Dirk’s just devious enough to have staged the whole scene with his kid sister and her baby as actors. Watch out!

Today’s “Luann” is like the still water on top with all the dangerous currents below. Toni is like, “if she can have it then it’s not good enough for her.”. Meanwhile – Luann is looking like a big girl – more in her posture than her height. She’ll be a grownup hottie.

Or something.

Why would Dirk trade in a happy family life for Toni to start with? She’s damaged goods with a dysfunctional family.

No backstory on Dirk to enlighten us about the underlying causes of his anger – could have been the steriods.

Luann’s being a capital B and trying to stir up problems.

We never know where Toni’s at, with Brad. Couldwe get some clarification on this, please? I meanit’s been some time, now, they’ve been datng. What are her feelings for Dirk? Or Brad? Can youhelp us with this? Brad has a right to know-hehas a lot invested with this lady.

Yes, Toni’s gorgeous. But that doesn’t relieve herof any responsibility for the relationship, or respectfor Brad or his feelings. He needs to know whereshe stands. Do they have a future, or not?

If not, then he needs to get going.

Why he so declares?

Dirk is not really quite irrelevant until Toni and Brad have a vowed commitment to each other, which so far has always been just a little bit further down the road….

What’s the likelihood of Dirk turning up in the next few strips?

Notice that now that the spotlight is gone Delta is nowhere to be seen.

Maybe Toni just plain doesn’t want to get married. Some people don’t. Or she has too much baggage right now and doesn’t want to because of that. Or whatever her problem might be, if indeed she has a problem. Now it’s in Brad’s court: if he wants to get married that badly, and she doesn’t want to, he has to decide if he’s going to waste his time messing around with her or if he’s going to find someone who DOES want to get married. If it’s only Toni he thinks he wants to marry, he (again) has to decide how long he’s willing to wait. She could certainly help if they’d have a conversation about why she doesn’t want to marry him. He could at least ask for that, and if she freaks out, he knows she’s a nutter. Your move, Brad.

And if I knew a guy like Mikey, I’d tell the misogynist to get over himself. We women do so enjoy being treated like people, you know.

Never mind all this relationship prattle, How did they manage to put SIX baskets in that little box?!? Count ’em! SIX!! Amazing. I would have struggled with the SECOND one! …I want a magic box like that one.

Foreshadowing at it’s best. So, Dirk will either be moving in down the street, or their kid will start going to the same daycare that Shannon does, or Toni will take a yoga class—taught by Dirk’s wife, or…..

Toni apparently has committment issues.She thinks that she can have her cake and eat it too. This is a subject that Greg Evans should explore more deeply as a possible story line. Meanwhile there should also be a story where Dirk meets with Brad and tries to convince him to bury the hatchet by proving to him that Dirk is not the same man he was!

I think Toni now realizes you can take a good looking sleazeball and reform him, but you can’t take a dorky looking nice guy and make him a hottie…..bet she wishes she ran into Dirk again after he met the yoga chick but before the baby and marriage part…..she would’ve dumped Brad in .0001 seconds……

Still, hopefully Dirk somehow gets Toni back…….to me, Brad is even more shallow……..cause if Toni was ordinary looking, he wouldn’t have made a fuss over her at all, I’m sure. When did he make a fuss over ANY other girl before her? He’s just on some ego trip…….like Luann is with hot looking guys…..guess they figured since their dad pulled it off, it’s in the genes, ha ha ……..as for the sex issue, in the real world, Brad would be a goner at this point……I think Toni, like most girls in real life, would if anything prefer Dirk as a fb before Brad for any reason at all now…..

Luann is not competition for Toni’s man.

Brad is just a comfortable option for Toni until her real love comes along.

You’re forgetting the time that Toni was willing to quit her firefighter job so Brad would be working again..She also went after the Wiener World boss when she wasn’t abusing Brad..She’s no tease, just scared and still trying to find herself. Being in an abusive relationship messes one up for a long, long time..

Dirk is one of the most interesting characters in the strip!He started out as real ass but and he struggled to become a better person. Need I mention him saving Luann’s mom from being crushed underneath the book shelf?I like how Evans treats and develops the character. I can see Dirk and Brad becoming friends maybe at the end of the comic strip

I think that when Brad doesn’t propose, Toni will find herself disappointed.

Lev, don’t you think the little “shower” arc was Greg’s way of answering any doubts as to whether Brad & Toni were intimate? I’ll answer my own question, YES; Greg does read these comments and was giving you the proof of intimacy… if couples shower together, they “you know” together, case closed!

It can really get annoying when you make a comment online, someone misinterprets what you were saying, then you have to defend yourself to the entire “room”! I challenge you to talk to ANY of my female friends and find one who would accuse me of misogyny, of any kind.

I never went through that. No GFs. I will die alone and not love it.^^I was putting on a bit of a “front” there, the idea of dying alone and lonely isn’t really my favoured choice either, but, I’m just getting too old to care.

Id say its time for the character of Toni to grow up or for an intro of a new interest -some competition-for Brads affection. So far he has been in love with her but she is most definitely not in love with him.

Dirk is now the nice guy, and therefore, of no further interest.

Brad will run into Dirk at his parents house where he will be showing off his baby to Nancy who will be happy to see them as Dirk came to her rescue when she was falling from the ladder.
