J.L.G. the reason this seems so prophetic of today’s memes is that it’s simply a comment on the human constant. Mankind by his nature is selfish and greedy at the core. Always has been and always will be no matter the age. So sad but trye.

Today’s strip was drawn in the later years of Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes career, when he had turned down personal wealth by refusing to mass-market Calvin and Hobbes merchandise (stuffed Hobbes toys, etc. ). He was also struggling to keep his life private, since he had become famous.

Fits right in today.Rather a politician, or a CEO.Or a “News” anchor.

Well I’d say your best career options are the Entertainment industry or Politics. Wait what am I saying? That’s the same industry.
