It makes me laugh when I watch one of those disaster shows on History or Science channel about the end of our world, when the sun dies out.

All the scary music, as if it were going to end pretty soon. It does make you feel as if it was going to happen any day now, so be prepared. Stock up on extra batteries, and candles, and bottled water.

Calvin a philosopher? A bit nihilistic but at least he’s thinking, which is more than most people achieve.

Hobbes – again great relevant comics. I leave the big picture thinking to the Calvin’s of the world. One day at a time is all I can handle.

If we make the planet unlivable for us, the planet will support the evolving survivors. We have to do something to kill a few million years time until it happens.

I had a stroke, can’t talk, my wife died from cancer . I just have to look at the “Big Picture” now . Oh well—-

You’re worried about stuff that isn’t likely to happen to you in particular for another eighty years or so, Calvin? Why can’t you make the most of now?

And the universe is not going to collapse, as was believed at the time this was drawn. It will expand faster and faster until all the atoms in the universe are ripped apart. So cheer up.
