    Slop = a billiard shot that you didn’t call, and a ball you weren’t shooting at goes in a pocket and it remains your shot.

    Been a long time since I played, but as I remember, “English Billiards” is played on a pocket table – “Three-cushion Billiards” is played on a non-pocket table.

    I believe a pocketless billiard table is called a “Snooker Table”. My understanding is that billiards and pool are synonymous

    I played both pocket (English) billiards and pocketless cushion (carom) billiards for years back in Walnut Creek, California.If you’ve never heard of these, why don’t you try googling them?
