I learned to type on an old manual typewriter way back in the fifties. You had to throw the return handle on the left (I cant remember what it is really called) every time you finished a line.
My lovely wife made me give my ancient IBM Selectric III to charity last year. I see the same one on the net for $625 this afternoon.
Wife says that the old machine was cluttering up the house. Oh well, hope the charity made a few bucks.
I can still type quite a few words per minute. I have fast fingers.
I took typing in school. We had manual Royals and I had an old Underwood at home. My dad had an old portable Corona from the 30’s. I think my brother has it now. Corona later became Smith-Corona.
