It would be ok if they would shrink the package also. I got some cookies the other day there was more air in the package than cookie. because of the spacing they put in the package with the plastic .And watch out for the chocolate covered cherries a boxt that use to hold 20 now only holds 10

the other sneaky thing they do is to concave the bottom of containers so that there is that much less product.

Um, if X dollars used to buy a pound of whatever and X dollars now buys 3/4 of a pound of whatever, how is that not a price raise??

While I agree that in general we all could eat a little less, it’s the deception that’s bothersome. The one that really bugs me is when they package something in a “single serving size” and they overprice it, when all you need to do is get a regular size and put it in a bowl or Tupperware.

Initially, the food companies were concerned about the negative response that the downsizing their products would cause with the consumers. That is why the can sizes dropped from 16 ounces to 15.5 ounces with the cans tapering down from the top. This was to give the illusion that the cans were the same size. Instead of honest, some corporation opted for deception.

Interesting comment, Olivia….you must be the one who feeds Ben, so who’s fault is it?
