Since I’m on disablity I have a very limited monthly budget and can’t really spend much on gifts, but last year I made scarves for my friends (I call them morse code scarfs because the stripes spell out the person’s name in morse code) and I didn’t even have to buy the yarn because my friends insisted on getting the yarn in the colors they wanted. This year I bought one modest gift for one friend’s family (a game they wanted) and everyone else is getting a cook book of my favorite recipies (everyone says I’m such a good cook they want to know how I do it). But I know my friends spend more money on me than I could ever spend on them.
In 1971 I figured out that, if Jesus wanted me to celebrate His birthday, He would have, like everything else, given instructions on when and how He wanted it done. Boom! End of celebration by man’s plan and end of gift giving for that holiday!
