Got an exact year here—-1948.
Much rather see this strip re-cycled than Family Circus or Peanuts – both of which lost their ‘charm’ after they were re-run the first time. But then I have a weakness for the older better written/drawn strips, esp. Smokey Stover & Li’l Abner.
