i started praying again when i started AA in the 80s. they suggested that “proper” prayer (their definition of prayer is somewhat rigid, but useful) starts with expressing gratitude, so i’ve been expressing graditude on a daily basis for over a quarter century. it’s been found that people who feel grateful tend to be happier and more healthy than those don’t. not to mention the poor folks who feel they have nothing to be grateful for. hell, i got to see rock ‘n’ roll get born while i was a teenager. and i get to check out my top 50 strips every day! and i’m so grateful for the amazing people i get to play music with. and all the great instruments i get to play on. and on, and on…
