I’ve never understood that. Why is it necessary to rip off your mask to catch a foul?

CB, in the event of a line drive, get your glove in front of it and catch the ball.

Forget baseball, Charlie! Try with soccer, your head is great.

Schroeder might just as well be playing his piano behind the plate.

Charlie Brown plays baseball just like I did. I always had the same result when trying to catch!

I never saw this strip. Must be one of those left out of the original paperbacks.

Why is it that sometimes when Charlie Brown gets hit by a ball his clothes come off, and sometimes they don’t? Does it depend on how hard the ball is hit?

The reason why you pull off your mask is because it is extremely difficult to run with it on. It will move a lot and smack up and down on your face. It also falls off a lot and you are in danger of tripping over it.

    Excellent 3rd panel…

Better stick with the piano, Schroeder!

Actually, I think CB is one of the all-time great pitchers – look at all the balls that can only be hit straight back to him. Just a shame he’s the worst fielder in history…
