Much worse. And the county doesn’t have the money to fix the roads. And the patches aren’t much better. One of the reasons I bought a “Trail Rated” Jeep 4-wheel drive Liberty. The heavier suspension can handle the rough roads better.
When I was a kid I actually saw that exact thing happen to a Volare wagon. I was at a crosswalk, the driver grudgingly let me cross, then stomped on it. The leaf spring mounts broke free from the frame and the whole rear axle, driveshaft and everything, rolled right out from under the car and it crashed down onto its back bumper… That was a good 35 years ago and I still smile every time the image plays back in my head…

I broke a transmission mount and a coil spring once on the road to our home on roads like that.
