Drabble by Kevin Fagan for June 27, 1996
Transcript:
Norman: Dad, how can you live next to someone for 15 years and still not know him? Ralph: It's my policy not to get chummy with the neighbors. Call it a defense mechanism. If I got to know them, I'd start to like them... We'd exchange gifts and watch each other's kids grow up. Then, one day, there would be a "for sale" sign on their lawn and I'd be heart-broken! So I just tell everybody to buzz off! Norman: Gosh, dad... I never knew you had such a tender side!
