Alice: Where'd you go for the holidays, guinea pig? Mr. Danders: To the house of one of your classmates whose name escapes me. His mother had "allergies," so I spent the entire week in the garage. It was awful: dark, cold and filled with thousands of ludicrous "handyman" gadgets. Alice: Whoops. I gotta go finish colouring something. Mr. Danders: I'm thankful enough for the hospitality, but I still smell like a lawn mower.

That actually does sound like a poor way to treat a guinea pig. Possibly even animal cruelty.
