I am a relative newcomer to this comic, and I must say I am finding it intriguing, thought provoking, and charming. The art work is also quite inspired and artistic in both form and in vantage point. And, there is nothing wrong with a cigar once in a while… I enjoy them occasionally, myself. Although, as my nick would suggest, I tend to prefer pipe tobacco. Thank you, Dan, for your efforts here!
I just wonder. Could this piece of paper be the wadded up song that he wrote that was declared a terrible in an earlier strip? And if it is, could it be picked up and performed by another musician for fame and fortune? That would be about right for poor Beardo. He is an artist, and too often artist do not get the recognition, whether it be fame or money, in their lifetime.
But this leads to many upset feelings I have concerning the inequities of life that are applied to artists.

It’s a cigar, actually. And it’s a rarity for me! Thanks for watching out for my lungs!
