Petey: I thought up the best scary movie of all time! Alice: What is it? Petey: So you go to the theater and the movie starts - You're waiting for it to be scary but nothing scary happens. You're so tense, your stomach hurts! But nothing scary happens during the whole movie! Then it's over! And you're so relieved it wasn't scary! But as you leave the theater, an usher jumps out from behind a trash can - And he says, "Boo!" That was so scary, my stomach hurts. Alice: If he jumps out and tells you a joke, would it be a comedy? Beni: Not if it made your stomach hurt.

wow, makes me want to become an usher just so i can justify jumping out from behind a trash can and scaring people

Some of them are scary even without jumping from behind a trashcan…

The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th panels remind me of cheesy people outside a window “walking down stairs” or maybe the “escalator” one. I love it. –

To me the scariest movie of all time was “The Haunting” also called “The Haunting of Hill House.” When I saw it in the theatre, during one scene, my entire row dropped in unison below the seat in front of them. They remade the movie a few year ago with all of the special effects that new technology has developed and the movie sucked. Not scary at all.

Maybe they could call it “The Rise of the House of Ushers”
