Get rid of the witnesses. Then no one knows which rats did this. Run rat, run. Public doesn’t see them a face often, maybe wouldn’t recognize them in a line up.Hey speaking of rats. Wasn’t our check was using rats to flavor the beans? So not all rats are in the army.Blessed be

And this, friends, is why you’re supposed to use proper trigger discipline. Keep your finger off it until you’re absolutely ready to fire. Then again, these fellows used to always seem ready, but by the look of their sweaty foreheads, they’re certainly out-numbered.

I still have the comment by the HC that the blood of the sinners would flow in my mind. This incident was not engineered….hopefully. It could have been. Not by coaching the rats (they are obviously scared), but by sending them and expecting things to escalate as they have. How hard wouldit be for the HC to declare this a “mutant products riot” and declare a full lockdown “for public safety”?

The rats haven’t demonstrated much intelligence to date. If they wanted to disperse the crowd they might have fired bursts over their heads…but last panel indicates otherwise. First shots through Spike were accidental.

I don’t see anyone in the crowd holding rocks or bottles in panels 1 and 2 (or having them nearby on the ground for that matter). So, I guess the cowardly guys in the back had them while the guys up front collect the lead. Typical. To quote a quote, “What’s so civil about war?” Yup, it’s a comin’.

rickD is right. I said the same thing. This is a set up. Rat Security should have never been sent to a bar fight. Its like sending in the US Army for a domestic disturbance. Police tactics are much different than Security tactics. I sense Velda’s hand behind this. They did show up. Ordered dispersal. Like normal the ones fighting turn on the nearest authority. I know I have see and been in that before. The Rats have no other means of defense other than leave. But can’t they are surrounded. However like me they are not required to. I by law and court decisions do not have to retreat once I am there. The better part of valor may decide but I am under no orders to leave and authorized to use whatever force necessary to protect lives and property including myself.A bottle was tossed and a weapon discharged. Cause and effect. The crowd should disperse but no they turn (as I have seen before) and the Rats do the only thing they can once attacked. Fight back.I have been in situations like this. Nearly got to violence. Weapons were drawn and leveled. Orders were given but ignored as the crowd was spurred on by emotions closed in around us. One person said to me about 10 feet away “We are going to kick your ass”. My response “Then you will be the first one to die”. The crowd heard that and began to falter and then fell back. I was a trigger pull from what the Rat had done. The High Council wanted this. They are willing to kill whoever they want to get the aims and goals into Endtown law. Someone has it in for Endtown. The Who and Why elude us for now.And the story is just ripping.(I bet you when Allgood hears it he will be appalled but Velda will say like she did before. The Rats are just out of control and over reacted going PAST their orders. She said that when they took Maude and Linda. These poor guys were just tossed to the Lions.)

The question’s been asked since the beginning of the trial: “Where’s Velda?”. What influence does she have with Security? What influence does she have with the High Council leadership? WHO is the leadership of the High Council? I doubt the police as we are familiar with them exists anymore. When the bartender talked to Denise, is she all that’s left of the police, the dispatcher?

I stated before. There’s a criminal element in this and now I’m prety sure there’s a crime boss looking to take over for some reason and I would like to know what it is.

Of course, with Aaron’s excellent storytelling, I’m probably wrong. Yet I do recall the story introducing Holly reading “I, the Jury”, a detective novel which I haven’t read (yet). There may be something there that may give a clue.

Yah know, a thought just occurred to me. In the last panel, all we see is the muzzle of A gun, not necessarily the muzzle of one being carried by the rats. Could it be someone else firing on the rats to protect the crowd? Hmmmm…well I could be overthinking it and it could be the rats mowing down the crowd.

I know personally how easy it is to have the lazy trigger finger. Very quick habit to get into. They are under an extraordinary amount of stress, but I’m pretty sure the idea of spraying bullets into an unarmed crowd goes against what they have been trained to do.Someone commented that the rats only hit someone by accident. Spike wasn’t intentional. That muzzle flash doesn’t show what direction it was pointed in, just that it WAS fired. I hope that was just the “Back off, or the next time won’t be an accident.”
