Of course there was never really any tiger, Poncho can’t even scare the cats living with him.

Guess you have to understand Life of Pi to appreciate this. Love it!!!

“so, we meet again”, “got any Pi?”“Pi solves everything” “wanna play 20 questions?” wanna see my tiger impression?" “in my other life I was a tiger”—so many better choices.

I don’t get it either. Seems the winner would be one easy for everyone to get, not a select few who know some obscure thing called Pi or whatever it is.

I adored the book. Haven’t seen the movie although I’d like to. The winning entry is lame. I wonder how many entries there actually were. Come on Gilligan, how about WE get to vote ???

Maybe it’s better to leave caption contests to The New Yorker. The readers there don’t over-think things.

My entry was way better! Of course now I can’t remember my entry, but I’m sure it was very witty!

Yes, it’s the winning entry in the caption contest. I think it’s funny, and it fits Poncho’s personality in that he didn’t scare the tiger, he talked him into something. :-)

Yeah it was a contest, http://poochcafe.com/?p=2741, but the winner was not that good. Some of the runners up were better.
