i remember a superman movie where clark was givin up and someone brought him his super man cape (which he had dropped) and then he became superman again; at least thats what I remember from when I was like 6, and i thought for a long while that the cape did give him the power of flight, me and my brothers had long discussions about it

Why did he get up there?

Everyone knows a cape is just a convenient way to carry your blanket with you. And tree branches can be very nice napping spots.
