Jimbo: I'm not surprised...she is completely predictable! It keeps happening again and again.
Jimbo: I think she's seeking attention...and she knows we'll always come running!
Rose: Jimbo! Is this really the best time for a lecture?
De-clawing works just fine. All 4 feet, for 3 cats over a span of almost 40 years (17/16/4). Just keep them inside. .Never have to worry about getting scratched, cat getting snagged, or poking holes in the water bed.
@Rikkie Tavi What is more cruel? Loving and taking care of a little cat by not letting it outside and taking steps that your life and the cats life are little harmonius, or getting angry with the cat becuase cats do what cats do and allowing it out of the house only for it to be killed because it accidentally got into a yard with a dog and the dog got a hold of it or it was run over by a car that was driven by a manic who purposfully trys to run over any animal that is out of a yard? Personally, I would rather put up with a little bit of pain of declawing and keep the little critter safe in the house. At least with dogs you can keep them in a fenced in yard and if you are persistent enough, they will stay in their yard.
Just because you don’t declaw a cat ….. you do not need to put them outside. I have had five cats and not a one of them were declawed. The two I have now, still have their claws, live totally inside and know what they have been given to claw (scratching posts) and what not to claw ( the furniture). Keep the claws trimmed (that way when they love you – kneed like a kitten) it doesn’t hurt. People have no clue about cats, declawing, litter boxes or much of anything else. They are the ones that don’t deserve to have cats and they are the reason there are so many cats in shelters that are older and unloved or wanted. They are also the reason you find cats and “road kill”.
Rules for living with cats:Do not declawKeep indoors at all timesTreat them respect and caringTrim their clawsKeep the litter box cleanMake sure they have fresh food and water at all times.LOVE THEM!
It isn’t rocket science people.
Just hope someone puts up with all your “faults” so you won’t be alone in your old age or die alone.
My indoor only kitty has her claws, we clip her nails once every week or two, and the only thing she’s managed to snag the old stained bath towel in her bed.

What’s going on with his nose? Looks like he’s been at the bottle for quite some time.

Snagging occurs when I am dressed up and kitty wants additional affection…..which I gladly and happily give.

I think Jimbo likes the view. Seems like a perfect time for a lecture. ;)
