It’s called ‘Motheritis!’ Elly’s walking a fine line between being a caring, cautious mother and not wanting to overdo with the protectionism and keeping her daughter from playing with her brother and friends.

The kids are old enough now to have become used to the weather changes; however, Elizabeth has not been sick very often so that becomes the prime concern.

I went to school one day without shoes my mom had to take off work to bring some to me. I hated shoes as a kid.

She doesn’t need a jacket in June in Ontario. Right now we’re having beautiful weather, it’s warm without being overly hot. But shoes should always be necessary, you never know what a kid might step into. Or an adult either for that matter.

If she’s not well yet, why is she going outside?

Just because Elly is overprotective does not mean that common sense is to be ignored. Considering litter such as broken glass being outdoors, it is a dumb idea to go outside barefoot.

It’s June in Wisconsin now, but even in the east-central part near Lake Michigan, we’re having days when the temp. doesn’t get above the low 50’s. A week or so ago, even the well-padded 13-year-old who never gets cold and refused to get a sweater, admitted to being ~ cold ~! My father-in-law once told me that he gets worse when he’s overheated, but I’ve always gotten worse from the cold. So maybe Ellie knows what she’s doing.
