With Baldo having been disappeared, now the comic strip can be renamed “Gracie”!

He didn’t disappear, she just imagined him somewhere else.

Media like television or movies will not replace the written word. Even computer games have a written script or outline for the game developers to follow when they are creating the programs. When a story is translated to a visual media like a movie, much is lost. The Lord of the Rings as a movie was good and, like the books, was a trilogy but due to the constraints of time had deleted chapters from the movies and had to create some poor patches to the storyline to explain some of the important items and events that occurred later in the movies. I am sure that I am not the only person who missed the apparent side trip that introduced the fellowship to Tom Bomadill and explained just where did the haflings get the daggers that could harm a Dark Rider. I can understand why this section was removed from the movie, but it left a hole in the story that was not adequately filled in the movie. The movie version of The Hunt for Red October was very true to the novel written by Tom Clancy but ended much sooner than the book did by leaving out several chapters that were very interesting reading but would have been boring to watch on the screen as part of what was already a very long movie. No, words, pages, and books will not disappear. They are too important to be discarded.
