Gee Koko, was it too much trouble? He told you how to do it! (Dripping with sarcasm and a little salt water.)

Wow, I’ve never seen a bear do all that.

Isn’t fish bad for dogs? O.K. for cats, but bad for dogs?

When you think about what has to be done to fish, cows or chickens before we eat them, how can we? Let’s all become vegans for the sake of our health and the animals.

Not a problem…send that fresh fish over here. You know, salmon isn’t REALLY fresh unless it has a surprised look on its face.

bagbalm: Bears frequently gut salmon – and eat that first. They particularly like the eggs.

They are now saying that one should not feed raw salmon to dogs, because it seems that some raw salmon is contaminated with something which dogs have little resistance to.

YMMV. I can’t afford to feed salmon to mine anyway, nor the cats, not raw nor cooked, so I haven’t tested the theory.

Another recent development I have no intention of testing is the vegan pet food developed by HSUS. Actually, their canine ration is available now; they are still working on the feline ration. Cats are obligate carnivores, of course, which dogs are not. As we are not. Nonetheless, both dogs and humans need some animal protein in their diet.

A vegan ration for dogs is to my mind inhumane, if not outright abusive.
