    Bases loaded, 2 outs, bottom of the ninth. At least, if a walk will bring in the winning run, the score is tied now, so they’ll get another chance.

    I go the “baseball” part of it (strike zone is knees to the letters), so today’s strip makes NO SENSE. I usually love In The Bleachers,but today’s is just not funny.

    By rule, the strike zone is from just below the batter’s armpits to just above his knees as he assumes a normal stance at the plate. That umpires tend not to call the so-called “high strike” is a reflection upon the umpires, not a change in the rules. This batter can watch three pitches go by and strike out, if the umps do their jobs. And yes, I used to be one.
