Frazz by Jef Mallett for June 27, 2013
Transcript:
Miss Plainwell: Funny how two identical broken wrists can be so different. Two weeks in a cast vs. 12 weeks! Frazz: Oh, I bet there are more differences. Girl: I heard I can get my cast in slime green. Mrs. Olsen: I heard I can get my vicodin in a bigger bottle.

I think Frazz has a secret double life as a doctor. Look how similar they look. All he would have to do is comb his hair back and put on glasses.

@sideshow: Frazz’s hair does not do this ‘combing’ thing. ;)

that is going to itch.

I think Frazz’s head is a bit more squarish. The doctor’s head seems to be a bit wider at the bottom than at the top.

You can have a bigger bottle, but the number and strength of the contents will remain constant.
magicwalnut over 11 years ago
Yeah, but you can always take two….or three….if the bottle is big enough.

notice since i wondered about Frazz always hanging with little kids he is of late shown with his girlfriend! personally i think it’s a sad thing that adults can’t have friendships with non related younger people but i didn’t make the world i only live in it. i wish things IRL were more like in the strip.

What’s with the dashed lines around the second and third panels? Are we supposed to cut those out?

One of the things that has been dissolving society – much worse than the people who want to officially get together – is the pervasiveness of suspicion. There have always been creepy people and dirty old men; OTOH there have also always been (many more of) the good, upstanding adults that kids knew they could rely on unofficially: the janitors, and workmen, and crossing guards, and local store owners, and all the other people who help make up a community. To defend against the few, it has been easiest to be suspicious of everyone, which means that parents are constantly telling their children that there is no community. Then we wonder why society falls apart.

I think you stepped WAY over the line there. You basically just called someone a pedo, for making an innocent comment about wanting the world to be more innocent and not full of creeps.
Adults certain CAN be friends with younger people. I used to play video games with my neighbor’s kid. We even had a couple snowball fights. I dunno if I was mentoring him in how to do either one of those better, but we both had fun.
