    In your teens, your parents criticise your clothes and hair. “Don’t think you’re going out dressed like THAT! And get a haircut!” After your kids hit their teens, they find your wedding album/prom picture/higschool yearbook and do the same thing. “Oh…cool hair, mom. What is that thing you’re wearing?”

    You can’t win. Wear what you want.

    Cicadas are lucky. 17 year childhood with no parental supervision, 2 weeks of sex, if not eaten, and then they die before they have any parental responsibilities.
