Many comments have been made about Lucy’s “meanness”, but it is my view that Lucy is a little too ingenuous to have any true malignity about her, unlike Violet, whose nastiness towards Charlie Brown in a number of strips from the early 60s considerably surpasses almost anything that Lucy has said or done. One thing that I like about Lucy is her exemplary self-confidence; I like the fact that she likes herself and considers herself beautiful regardless of what other people say about her.
I was right about the strip huh y’all???!!!..except it was Linus who said soak this handkerchief not Violet and Frieda said Mercy!!!!!!! which I had forgotten…when Lucy said Charlie Brown got hit in the head by a ball!!!!!!…Lucy said you’re kidding with a head like Charlie Brown’s you need a bedsheet!!!!!!…Charlie said I’m dying and all I hear is insults!!!!..I don’t want to be a spoiler but he went to the hospital and Lucy said if you get well Charlie Brown I promise never to pull the football away again
Looking at it, the strip feels rather unusual to me. Especially for a weekday four-panel strip. Every panel is at a different location from the one before, making it look very busy, and then there’s a zinger in the third panel, rather than just the fourth. Can anyone think of another Peanuts strip like that?

Seems like Lucy is showing no sympathy of CB’s accident!

Shouldn’t Frieda be suggesting that Snoopy go chase some rabbits?

If Peanuts was created by Tom Batiuk, this is what the final week of strips would be like.
And it would be titled Good Grief.

If you live long enough… you could be the one who will dance on Lucy’s grave!

Concussions are very serious business. Amazing how in the recent past nobody was really concerned

That’s all you’ll get from Lucy, CB. You should be used to that by now. Haha

Except. . . Yesterday Lucy was at the mound saying that bit about second or third aid. Today she is in the outfield with Frieda.
