I’m sure someone will get technical, maybe more than I. It’s just a comic, but what the heck … Flaps usually move downward. Those give me the impression of elevators, or on a delta winged craft, elevons. (Unless they’re clam-shell flaps, which there are lower ones that move down as well—which we can’t see.)Also, the plane wouldn’t stay in position in the slipstream tethered like that.
It is about the guy who holds the Guinness world record for paper airplane distance. Rather than a fan, he employs a former college football quarterback for testing, and he does do flap adjustments.
